Psychedelic Psychotherapy: A Strong Endorsement
We recommend reading this book We think this book is excellent! Recommended!
It’s a fantastic book “Absolutely fantastic book”1
“I just got this a few weeks ago. I’ve skimmed it and it seems absolutely brilliant.”1
“I find it to be a super upgraded and easier to read version of the maps manual (which is great also). In other books I’ve read on the subject there is more of a focus on why psychedelics have the potential to heal, and less on how to use them for healing.

Are dabs bad for you?
Other pages like this one cover many of the side effects of dabbing.
But what they don’t seem to mention are the rare but real risk of psychosis from dabbing.
“With mounting evidence that the risk of cannabis-induced psychosis may be related to both dose and potency of tetrahydrocannbinol (THC), increasing reports of psychosis associated with cannabinoids containing greater amounts of THC are anticipated. We report two cases of emergent psychosis after using a concentrated THC extract known as cannabis “wax,” “oil,” or “dabs” raising serious concerns about its psychotic liability.

Study suggests psychedelic drugs increase people's sense of connectedness - to the self, others, and the world
Psychedelic drugs can positively increase people’s sense of connection - to the self, to others, and to the world in general - and this sense of connection may be what underlies the strong therapeutic potential of psychedelics for depression, anxiety, and addiction, new research published has found. This sense of connection appears similar to ‘the overview effect’ experienced by some astronauts looking back at our planet from space - “characterised by a sense of ‘awe’ and perceived smallness in the presence of vastness.

LSD Test Kits
The most important test kit for LSD is the Ehrlich reagent.
Ehrlich’s reagent “can be used to positively identify LSD, helping rule out 25i-NBOMe, a highly toxic and extremely dangerous drug that is often misrepresented as LSD.”1
Purchasing options for LSD test kits (Ehrlich’s reagent)
HUP has offered to donate to MAPS for every sale that comes from their links on RollSafe, so we’re highlighting them here because of that and their low prices.

An Acid Trip: What is an acid/LSD trip like?
It can be scary.
A lot of people talk about the good side of it. DO NOT underestimate it. It can be the most amazing experience in the world or it could go very different. You will drive yourself nuts if you try to comprehend everything that’s happening. With the drop of the hat, it can go from the most spectacular feeling to feeling totally and completely helpless. It’s sobering to realize how incredibly small and weak the human mind is.

How long does it take for acid to kick in?
Short answer: You may notice some effects between 10 and 40 minutes, and you will really know that you are tripping after 2 hours. The trip will “peak” around 3-4 hours after ingestion, and you’ll still very much be tripping after 8 hours, with effects waning 7-9 hours after consuming LSD.
A research study published in 1955, while acid was still legal, found that changes in perception began to be noticed between 10 and 40 minutes after ingestion of a dose of ~70 micrograms.

LSD vs Acid
LSD refers to the compound lysergic acid diethylamide - a psychedelic drug.
Acid is a street/slang name for LSD.
LSD and acid are used to mean the exact same thing.
In research, LSD refers to the pure LSD compound, but on the street, just because something is called LSD doesn’t guarantee it contains any LSD - nor does it guarantee that it contains only LSD.
In the same vein: If something is called acid, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not real LSD, and that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s pure LSD.

What is LSD?
Overview LSD is a psychedelic drug.
People take it for varying reasons: personal growth, spiritual growth, to have fun alone, to have fun with friends, or just to experience altered states of consciousness.
Safety “This inquiry … indicates that with proper precautions [LSD and mescaline] are safe when given to a selected healthy group.”1
“A large number of previous human trials indicate that LSD [acid] can be safely administered within a research or psychotherapeutic setting.

Safety Guidelines for Hallucinogens - Research Excerpts
“Human hallucinogen research: guidelines for safety” Annotated by TripSafe for faster reading
Johnson, M., Richards, W., & Griffiths, R. (2008). Human hallucinogen research: Guidelines for safety. Journal of Psychopharmacology, 22(6), 603–620. doi:10.1177⁄0269881108093587
The full paper is online here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3056407/
These excerpts are designed to include pretty much everything that could be relevant to a non-clinical guide or participant, with headers/signposts to make reading easier. I find that reading scientific papers can be much slower than reading text with smaller sections and more headings.
