Are dabs bad for you?

Other pages like this one cover many of the side effects of dabbing.

But what they don’t seem to mention are the rare but real risk of psychosis from dabbing.

“With mounting evidence that the risk of cannabis-induced psychosis may be related to both dose and potency of tetrahydrocannbinol (THC), increasing reports of psychosis associated with cannabinoids containing greater amounts of THC are anticipated. We report two cases of emergent psychosis after using a concentrated THC extract known as cannabis “wax,” “oil,” or “dabs” raising serious concerns about its psychotic liability.” https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0920996416300561

Psychosis is “a severe mental disorder in which thought and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality.”

From our reading of that paper it seems that the mental state returned to normal within 2-4 weeks, and then psychosis medications were gradually tapered to zero over 1-13 months, in addition to abstinence from cannabis.

We don’t know exactly what to make of this other than that caution should be exercised with high doses or frequency of THC usage.
